Art & Survival: Working Through a Pandemic was first presented as a series of live Zoom lectures and workshops for students, alums, and friends of the MFA Program in Interdisciplinary Arts at CIIS. We have re-created the experience here for Mission at Tenth readers, complete with short talks and art-making prompts.
The Journey Forward
Beyond living through the present moment, we also need to dream and imagine a new world.
Art & Survival
Now is the moment to redefine our ideas about plagues and healing. What are the ills that plague society? How to create new practices that connect humanity in an urgent way, and are artistically potent?
Containment & Possibility
Containment and confinement by pandemics or oppression date back to the dawn of humanity. Many of us have lived through containments medical, racial, geographical, and political. What can we learn from communities previously locked in and the possibilities and creativity that arise out of the experience?
